“Last One Standing” is an original Jeremy Gorman track from his 2024 album

Ghosts of America. It sits in a soft rock genre, with guitar & vocals at the

center and a pleasant, well-balanced mix supported by piano and organ throughout.

What I hear is a guitar-oriented song built with control and clarity. The

song stays focused in a traditional verse–pre-chorus–chorus form, skipping a

bridge and letting the outro carry the final emotion. The track is

interspersed with electric guitar fills, but they never feel thrown in. Jeremy

has a real command of writing guitar parts that fit inside the harmonic

progression, so the soloing feels connected to the song rather than placed on

top of it.

Lyrically, the song feels like someone trying to accept the end of something

without turning it into blame. There is distance, regret, and the feeling that

some things cannot be changed no matter how much people try. Gorman also has a

natural talent for vocal melody, and that helps the repeated idea of being the

last one standing become the emotional center of the track.
